Hello, I'm Dr. Cynthia Neil Spence and I serve as the co chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Really happy to be here with you all this evening. The sociology department is a very sad, a medium sized department not too large. But students can major in sociology and anthropology, sociology, as at sociology with a anthropology minor. Students can also concentrate in pre med, pre law and criminology and public health. And so I'm looking forward to talking with you more about the ways in which sociologists see and know their worlds and also about how the social justice program is, in fact grounded in sociological imagining and problem posing.
Hello, everyone, I am Dr. Dorian Brown, pricey and Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science. It is fantastic to be here with you today to talk to you a little bit about the political science department. We are the second largest in the Division of Social Sciences, and we have space for you. So please think about political science. There are obviously a lot of things to talk about that are going on politically in the world. But we can talk about internships, graduate school programs, law school and all those other other wonderful things that you can do with the political science degree later in the breakout session. So I look forward to seeing everyone who's interested and welcome to all of you who are here today. Thank you

Good evening, everyone. I'm Dr. Moon Terrania. I am an Assistant Professor of International Studies. And welcome and thank you for your interest in Spelman. I'll just say a few things briefly, um, International Studies is a kind is an interdisciplinary program that draws from political science, sociology, gender studies, anthropology, to look at politics, gender, sexuality, social movements on a global scale. And I think now more than ever, this particular moment, we've learned that how important it is to have a close study and a critical understanding of what's happening on both nationally and internationally. So I look forward to meeting some of you in the breakout session.
Hi, everyone, I'm Dr. Natalie Watson Singleton. I'm an assistant professor and the Vice Chair in the psychology department. the psychology department offers both a BA and Bs and during the breakout sessions, I can talk a little bit more about what those differences are. We also have various tracks. So we have students who major in psychology who are interested in the pre med track, others who are interested in the pre law track. We also have different concentrations, for example, the mental health concentration for folks who are coming into the department knowing that they really want to be able to graduate with a deep understanding of the mental health field. And so I'm excited to talk more about all of the wonderful things that psychology has to offer the breakout sessions.

So that when you come to Spelman, as we hope you do, you will be able to discover for yourself how, what what we are all about. I am a professor of political science, and I also direct our Asian Studies program. So those of you who are interested in the study of Asia, I would love for you to check out our website and maybe consider the agent studies minor.
